The devil is in the details.....
I took a longer walk today than usual. I used Google maps and routed out a nice six mile walk for myself today. It took me to Pt. Fermin, the cliff side park here in San Pedro. I charged up my MP3 player and headed out the door. I like to listen to music cuase it takes my mind off of the monotony of placing one foot in front of the other and helps me to keep a quick place. I followed my planned route and walked to the top of a big hill. My pace slowed going up the hill, my heart beat quickened. My leg muscled burned with everystep near the top. Once I reached the top , I was hit by a refreshing ocean breeze. An overwhelming sense of accomplishment washed over me. I pulled my head out of my headphones and enjoyed the details of the moment. My heart still racing, the breeze across my face. The feel of fresh air filling my lungs, and the great view my eyes were taking in of the Los Angeles harbor. Moment like that make the long walks very enjoyable.
