I had realized that one of my biggest set backs to getting to a healthy weight was my food philosophy. I basically viewed food in the same way I do entertainment. It was all about pleasure and an escape from boredom. This led to constant over eating and over indulgence. I am trying to view food in a different manner , I put my food into two categories, one is food for building blocks the other is food for fuel. The there are two types of fuel one is a slower burning long lasting fuel ( complex carbs) the other is a quick burning fuel (simple carbs). Building blocks are the vitamins and minerals we get from food, another very important building block is protein. Protein is basically what makes muscle on our bodies. I started to view my body as a machine. I wanted to make my machine using the best materials possilbe, ie fruits vegetable and light proteins. Also it is important to fuel up with the apropriate fuels. I will discuss this in later blogs
Jaque le Lane Juicer Rules.
workout for today
consisted of resistance training for the back and shoulders
then followed up with a 20 minute cardio workout using a heavy bag
I did not use my cardio and a warm up this depletes fuel for resistance training

Alright mister... your misspelling of protein does not show well for the fact that you are an English major from UC Berkley! I, on the other hand, am a graduate of Hemet High... that is a valid excuse!
You are linked on my blog now.
Your new take on food is highly motivating.
I am super excited to see your progress and hope you don't mind me venting every once in a while. (As well as touting my achievements!)
Ha ha ha Im counting on you to give me crap when this drops off.
Hey Pete, congrats to you on your new adventure of both blogging and weightloss! I think what you are doing is great, keep it up. I will have Jeff stop by when he gets home from his latest trip... Sunday!
Way to go pete. I'm planning on checking in regularly because I could learn a lot from you. All this technical food talk is what I need to learn and pay attention to. I'm also going to tell Sam to check this out cause he told me the other day he want to lose 40 pounds by his birthday. You could inspire him too.
